Make a difference where it matters most — right here in our hospitals

Bradford Hospitals Charity is your official charity partner, here to help fund projects that go beyond NHS budgets, improving care and the hospital environment and experience for patients, families, and staff.

Thanks to public and staff support, this year the charity has funded 3D intra-oral scanners for the Maxillofacial Unit, a sensory room, the reflection garden, the snowdrop suite refurbishment, the Field House courtyard for staff, a cinema on the children’s ward, and much more!

There are lots of ways to get involved, and every penny, every purchase, every donation helps drive medical advances or improve spaces that could benefit you, your colleagues, and your loved ones.

• Give a regular gift: Start a monthly donation and become part of a charity that helps make Bradford Teaching Hospitals even more extraordinary for patients, families and staff. Your regular donation could buy a family a bereavement box, give a child in hospital their own Baggins the Bear, help fund vital medical equipment, or go towards building and refurbishing rooms and units. Set up a direct debit on the Bradford Hospitals Charity website.

• Enter the staff lottery: A fun way to give back and win! Cash prizes are given out every month - £500, £250, £100 or £50. A £2,500 prize is also drawn four times a year. Tickets are just £1 each (enter up to 20 times a month) and deducted from your salary. Fill in the online staff lottery form (BTHFT intranet) or download a form and email it to charity@bthft.nhs.uk, we’ll handle the rest.

• Join the microhive - small change, big impact: Your pay is rounded down to the nearest pound. If your net pay was £1080.34 then 34p would be given to our charity. You’ll never give more than 99p a month. Just grab your assignment number from ESR and sign up (microhive). It takes less than a minute!

• Turn daily shopping into donations: easyfundraising works with over 8,000 brands who will donate part of what you spend to Bradford Hospitals Charity. You won’t pay anything beyond the cost of your original purchase. Set up your easyfundraising profile and to start donating. Get your family and friends on board too!

• Recycling for Good: You can now recycle stamps, old electrical devices including mobile phones, cameras, gaming devices, as well as outdated or unexchangeable coins or banknotes, gold or silver and costume jewellery, and watches to support Bradford Hospitals Charity. Collection bins are located across the trust, find the collection nearest you and drop your items off – the charity team will do the rest.
  

• Fundraise your way: Raise money yourself, with your family and friends, or as a team! Host a bake sale, raffle, or dress-down day. Take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge or tackle the Tough Mudder. Contact the charity for ideas and support - charity@bthft.nhs.uk.
