NHS staff and supporters join forces for Three Peaks fundraising challenge
NHS hospital heroes and supporters teamed up to trek the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise money for Bradford Hospitals’ Charity.
More than 40 people, including staff from Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and members of the public, took time out to take on the gruelling challenge together in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales for their local NHS charity. So far, they have raised almost £14,000, including Gift Aid.
Hayley Collis, Head of Fundraising for Bradford Hospitals’ Charity, said: “It was a truly extraordinary day. Many of our walkers took part for very personal reasons, some because it was on their bucket list, and many because they felt it was important to be part of a team and they wanted to support their work family by giving back to their hospital charity, which has supported them so much during the past 18 months.
“We’re so proud of Team Bradford Hospitals’ Charity. We can’t thank you all enough.”
The fastest finisher from Team Bradford Hospitals’ Charity was Caroline Reynolds, who completed Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in an impressive 9hrs 18 minutes.
Caroline, a medical examiner officer, walked the Three Peaks in loving memory of her husband, Stuart Reynolds, who sadly passed away last year. As a dementia champion at the Trust, Caroline has been raising money to fund equipment which will help patients with dementia.
