Father and son team to take on 10K for Bradford Hospitals Charity
Deputy Head of Access at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHFT), Daniel Wadsworth, and his dad Stephen, are running the Bradford 10K on Sunday 29 April for Bradford Hospitals’ Charity.
The duo, who are both keen runners, admit there will be an element of competition between them, but their ultimate goal is to raise as much cash as possible.
Dan, who is based at St Luke’s Hospital, said: “We train together and go to the gym together every Tuesday to keep fit. I would be lying if I said there wasn’t any competition between us both! We both hope to finish in under 55 minutes!
“Working for the Trust, I see first-hand just what a huge difference the Bradford Hospitals’ Charity makes. I have previously raised money for the charity, which enabled them to buy toys for the children’s ward. It’s wonderful to see your efforts have such a positive impact on the experience of children when they come into hospital.”
Hayley Collis, Head of Fundraising for Bradford Hospitals’ Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Dan and Stephen for choosing our charity. Dan sees every single day how the money benefits patients directly and we are sure that his efforts will provide an even bigger boost to helping us ensure patients have the best experience possible.”
Dan, 31, from Haworth, and Stephen, 58, from Riddlesden, will take part in the Epilepsy Action Bradford 10K on Sunday, 29 April. The first £22 will go to Epilepsy UK and the rest to Bradford Hospitals’ Charity.
