Join us on Friday 13 December to Sparkle for Axl!

Whether you wear something sparkly or you decorate your workplace, school or organisation in sparkle – it’s an opportunity to have fun and raise money to enable our charity to buy toys and specialist play equipment for our young patients.

Now in its second year, we are looking forward to remembering Axl, who sadly passed away last year, by raising money for departments across Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This year, we plan to invest some of the money raised in video game equipment and virtual reality kits. Certain video games have been found to have a wonderful therapeutic effect on children who may be feeling stressed and upset in hospital. They are also an excellent distraction, helping our doctors and nurses examine and carry out tests while the child is more relaxed.

We will continue to invest in more traditional toys and distraction equipment too, providing the very best for our young patients who are being treated both in our hospitals and in the home.

Please let us know if your school or workplace would like to take part in Sparkle for Axl day, so we can support you!
